Amazon Prime Day: How To Find The Best Deals

Written by Bill Walls | Jul 5, 2023 2:02:49 PM

Finding the best deals on Amazon Prime Day can be exhilarating, yet with thousands of products and pages to navigate, you may feel as if you’re looking for a needle in a haystack.

This year’s mega shopping days are July 11-12, and while Amazon Prime Day is for members only, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial now. After that, it will cost you $15 per month or $139 per year for a Prime membership.

Whether you’re shopping for your business or yourself, here are some tips to help you navigate Amazon Prime Day and discover the most enticing offers.

Request An Invite

Start checking out Prime deals now because there’s a new “invite-only” feature this year for certain deals. To find “invite-only” deals, Amazon Prime members will need to browse the Deals page.

For “invite-only” deals only, you’ll see a “request invite” button below the price of the item.

Click on that button and you will be registered with Amazon to receive an email with a special link once that item goes on sale. Make sure you set your email notifications to alert you so you can click and purchase the item right away. You will have until the end of the day to purchase the product.

Note that most of the “invite-only” items only allow you to purchase one per customer. The number of invitations available are based on the number of products Amazon has in stock, so continue to check the website for updated products. Not all invite requests will be granted as well. Amazon will send an email notification letting you know whether you’ve been selected to participate in the deal either way.

Lightning Deals

Lightning Deals are limited-time deals that allow you to snag a product for less than its original sales price. These time-sensitive deals can provide substantial discounts on popular items, but to grab one of these deals, you have to stay vigilant and act quickly when you spot one.

To browse which deals are coming, you can go to the Amazon Deals page and select “lightning” under “Deal Type.”

Lightning Deals are among the best Prime Day deals and can sell out quickly based on their popularity, so it’s important to be prompt and ready when the deal goes live. Once you grab a deal, you have a limited amount of time to check out and purchase the item.

If a Lightning Deal is 100% claimed, don’t lose hope just yet. Click “Join the Waitlist,” which allows you to claim the deal if someone else cancels or doesn’t complete their purchase within the specified time.

Price Shop

Just because a deal is being offered on Prime Day doesn’t mean it’s the lowest price you can get for the product you’re interested in buying. Many retailers offer the equivalent of Prime Day sales on their own websites in order to compete on July 11 and 12, including major retailers like Target, Walmart, Best Buy and even Petco, which is holding a “Black Friday in July.”

That means if you don’t have an Amazon membership or want to price shop for the biggest savings, you can find even better deals on products like office equipment, electronics, appliances and other goods without even participating in Prime Day.

Sign Up For Notifications

If you have your eye on a product, one of the best ways to get a good deal on it is to sign up for notifications through Amazon. You can either add the product to your “wishlist” or tap the “heart” icon next to the product using the Amazon app.

If you have an Alexa device (Amazon’s virtual assistant), it can notify you whenever a product you’re interested in goes on sale. Simply add an item to your wishlist, keep it in your shopping cart or click “save for later” from your shopping cart. You can also ask Alexa to let you know when a deal goes live. You can even give her permission to place an order for the item as long as your account has a default payment and delivery address.

Shop Early Access Deals

You may not even have to wait until Amazon Prime Day to get the best deals. While Prime Day officially begins July 11 for Prime members, Amazon has begun rolling out early Prime Day deals that you can take advantage of now.

Early sales include deals on tablets, TVs, home and office decor, lighting, clothing, personal care items and more. New deals are constantly updated, so be sure to turn on your notifications and stay up to date with any pricing changes for any particular products you’re interested in purchasing.

Amazon Prime Day deals are truly worth looking at for any savvy shopper. With an extensive range of products available at significantly discounted prices, it presents a unique opportunity to save big on items ranging from electronics and home appliances to fashion and beauty products. Additionally, the exclusive benefits of being an Amazon Prime member, such as fast and free shipping, access to Prime Video, and Prime Music, enhance the overall value of these deals. So mark your calendars, prepare your wish lists, and get ready to take advantage of the incredible savings and convenience that Amazon Prime Day offers.
